| Welcome to the Villa del Monte Winery web site. Here you can see the wines that we are making, learn when we are releasing new vintages, set up a tasting, or reserve futures. Check out our awards! We just bottled our 2007 Pinot Noir and 2007 Chardonnay. In May we bottled the 2006 Pinot Noir and 2006 Moon Merlot. See more about the bottling on our news page. In the barrel right now is the Moon Merlot, and our newest baby, Santa Cruz Mountains Merlot. Let us know if you would like to see the operation in our new winery location or taste some of our very new wines in the barrel. Last year, just before harvest, we moved into our new winery location, less than a mile from our houses where we have the room to make wine without being so constrained for space. Now that our winery location is settled, we have also restarted the process of getting bonded. We had hoped to be bonded for the 2008 harvest, but the uncertainties of the winery location kept us from being able to move forward with this. What We BelieveWe are a small, family-owned, boutique winery specializing in single-vineyard wines made in the classical style. We have close ties to the folks who own and manage the vineyards and strive to get from them only the best grapes that they (and nature) have to offer. We strongly believe that "it's all in the grapes." Because of this, unlike the "big guys," our wines change in taste from year to year, just like they should. If you like small-batch wines where the winemakers are emotionally attached to the wine, then you are going to love Villa del Monte wines. Who We AreJohn and Neil have made wine for the last few years in a coop (it's a California thing) and everyone who tried our wine said that we should make wine professionally. So, in 2006 we and our wives, Suzanne and Joyce, began the process of getting bonded. Our company's name is Villa Vintners and we are registering the label Villa del Monte Winery.
