Bottling of 2006 Pinot Noir & Merlot

Villa del Monte Winery Bottled the 2006 Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir and the 2006 Carneros Merlot

May 17, 2008 -- With the help of lots of our friends, we bottled 83 cases of our Quenneville Pinot Noir, 88 cases of our Moon Merlot.  We also bottled, on the same bottling line 13 cases of (George Kohl's) Old Orchard 2006 Estate Pinot, and 21 cases of Quenneville Pinot Noir.

We rented the bottling line from Greg Perrucci (of Perrucci family winery, Kennedy Hill Vineyards).  He's the good-looking guy on the labeler in the back of the bottom photo.  Because the line was so efficient, we overestimated the amount of time it would take to bottle 200 cases, so the folks who signed up for Sunday drew the short straw and helped us clean up.

We ran the line in two shifts (morning & afternoon) so we wouldn't wear anybody out.

The morning crew: Dennis, Jack, JC, Angele, Dave, Suzanne, Joyce, George, WIll, & Walt.

The afternoon crew: Dennis, Greg, JC, Angele, Susie, Will, Buck, Walt, George, & Dewey
