The grapes for this remarkably well-balanced Merlot hail from the Moon vineyards in Carneros, where the heat is just right for this deeply structured Merlot.  This is the Merlot for folks who think that they don't like Merlot. 

  • Now a silver medal winner at the 2009 California State Fair.
  • Also second in class at the San Joaquin County Fair, this three-time silver medal winner (2008 California State Fair, 2008 Santa Cruz County Fair & 2009 San Joaquin County Fair), is also won a gold medal winner at the 2008 WineMaker Magazine competition.

Grape grower Jim Moon has been growing grapes (under Helen Turley's guidance) since the 80s.

  • Cases Produced = 88

History

  • Harvested and crushed on October 23, 2006: 24.25° brix, 3.53 pH.
  • Pressed on November 5, 2006 for first settling
  • November 16, 2006 moved into 3 barrels for aging.
  • Bottled on May 17, 2008.
