2005 Carneros Merlot - Silver Medal Winner

The grapes for this wonderfully well-balanced Merlot hail from the Moon vineyards in Carneros, where the heat is just right for this deeply structured Merlot.

Grape grower Jim Moon has been growing grapes (under Helen Turley's guidance) since the 80s.

• Cases Produced = 24

History

• Harvested and crushed on 10/18/05: 24.25° brix, 3.25 pH, 6.082 g/L TA, and 2.53g/L MA.
• Pressed on 11/5/05
• 11/6/05 - Started Malolactic fermentation: 2g Enoferm Alpha to each barrel and 10.6g/gal of Leucofood and 0.27g/gal of Leucovit.  pH of 3.31.
• 12/3/05 Malolactic is complete with < 0.01 g/L of MA
• Bottled on November 12, 2006.
