Earlier Wines

We believe that the wine should vary from year to year, reflecting the conditions of the vines during the season.  All of our wines (except our blend) are single-varietal single-vineyard wines with no other wines blended with them.

These vintages are in the bottle now:

2007 Santa Cruz Mountains Chardonnay
Ed Quenneville vineyard.  The protected location gives the grapes a wonderful balance of flavors that are typical of the Santa Cruz Mountains.
2007 Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir
Ed Quenneville vineyard at 1800 foot elevation above a protected valley in the mountains.
2006 Santa Cruz Mountains Chardonnay
Ed Quenneville vineyard.  The protected location gives the grapes a wonderful balance of flavors that are typical of the Santa Cruz Mountains.
2006 Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir - Two Bronze Medals!
Ed Quenneville vineyard at 1800 foot elevation above a protected valley in the mountains.  This is a classic Pinot from a classic Pinot terroir.
2006 Carneros Merlot - Two Silver Medals!
Jim Moon vineyards in Carneros, where the heat is right for this deep-structured Merlot with a complex structure.

2002 Carneros Merlot
A well-aged Merlot with big, bold tannins that are aging down now to expose the varied and well-balanced stone fruit flavors that Moon Merlots are known for.

For the 2008 Vintage, we are making our usual wines with a few additions.  They are in the barrel now, undergoing secondary fermentation:

These earlier vintages are still in the barrel, aging:
2007 Carneros Merlot
Jim Moon vineyards in Carneros, where the heat is right for a Merlot with a deep structure.

2007 Santa Cruz Mountains Merlot
Regan vineyards in the Santa Cruz Mountains, where the climate is just right for very long hang-time.

* - We can't call it Port anymore, since the US and the EU have a treaty in place now to protect named regions and styles, like Port, Champagne, Bordeaux, Chianti, etc.  I guess we'll be call our wine made in the "Port-style" something boring like desert wine.
